ASA – Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate
ASA is structurally very similar to ABS, but instead of butadiene, it contains an acrylate component, which significantly increases resistance to UV radiation and weathering. This makes it ideal for outdoor applications.
Advantages
- Excellent UV resistance
- Excellent weather resistance
- Good toughness
- Good dimensional stability
- High-quality surface finish
- Good color stability
- Good processability
- Low water absorption
Disadvantages
- Higher cost than ABS
- Lower chemical resistance than PP
- Lower wear resistance than POM
